Tom Petty was picked to perform at Next year's Super Bowl Half TIme. Even though it's early December and the super bowl will not be around until another month, hearing who's the half time performer makes me look forward a hella lot less now. And for someone who has no clue what the heck is going on during a football game, Half Time is my favorite part of the entire superbowl.
The 57 year old, rock singer hasn't had a number one hit since 1994 with the song 'Girl On LSD.' Let's, all thank Janet Jackson for this snoozefest. I mean i didn't think they could get any worst than them picking Paul McCartney who, gave a mediocre performance. Tom Petty for me, is someone who, if this was two years ago. I would listen to while high trying to understand what his lyrics on a deeper level. I went on You Tube to see if Petty has had any electrifying performances, and i found approx. none. But I did enjoy that one video Don't Come Around Here No More. Love the Alice In Wonderland featured in the video. Is this just going to be a singalong performance? I don't know i think there could have been so many great artist they could have picked. Hell I would have been okay with Beyonce, and anyone who knows me knows how much i HATE beyonce.
Whoever picked the Petty, should be fired and feel heartbroken for letting sports fan disappointed.

1He makes good music, but he's a bad choice. He doesn't rock hard enough to perform at the Superbowl Halftime.

4I have to say, I saw him at the ACL Fest 2 years ago and it was an amazing show. The fact that there was a storm going on and he was backlit by lightning might have had something to do with it, though.
5I dunno what I think about that, Prince ruined it for me last time - gag. I like Petty's "American Girl"... that's a good song. I dunno if he'll get the stadiums rocking but for me, anything is better than the last performer.

I Loved prince performance,it was one of the best in awhile. And the thunder made it magical.
But you're entitled to your opinion.Not everyone can enjoy prince.
