I wish I had pictures to share but I’ll get to that later.

So Friday afternoon, I finally finished my paper for my politics class but I was moving so slow that time was catching up to me and everything I wanted to do was just not going to happen. The whole, let's wax my eyebrows and get lunch-was not going to happen.

The buses on campus were running extra slow because of the rain we had in jersey- so luckily I found a friend on the bus who could drop off my paper in my teacher’s mail box and I could speed walk to the train station. My train was supposed to come at 4:05pm to get to Trenton at 4:34. But once again because of the rain everything was delayed. Oh yeah and let me remind you my train to go back to Maryland was at 5:03. So I’m freaking out because I’ve yet to receive my train ticket and I knew that would take awhile. The train didn’t get there till about 4:20 but luckily I got there at around 4:50, which gave me enough time to get my train ticket, and the train was about 5 minutes late as well.

Of course the train is packed and I sit at the first seat I see, about five stops in, the conductors tells me I have to move because it’s a handicap seat. GRRR.

I get to Maryland and my douche bag brother in law wants to start acting like a douche saying he can’t attend dinner with the family because the current time, which was 8:45, was too late to eat. Really? I’ve gone to dinner with him plenty of times around that time; actually he’s made dinner around that time when I’ve visited his house. But it was just the girls and we celebrated my sister’s birthday at the Texas Steakhouse. It was cute and fun.

The next day was the whole reason I went back down to Maryland. To attend the Glow in the Dark Tour, the headliner was Kanye West and his opening acts were Lupe Fiasco, NERD and rihanna. My friend Stephon was attending with me and he was picking me up. I told him to leave extra early because he would get lost finding my sister’s place. And sure enough he did and he didn’t get to my house till 5. But we still had enough time to get to the show. But… we got lost in Virginia trying to find the venue and thank god for phone gps it saves lives. So it’s about 7pm, we’re thinking another artist called Matthew Santos might have been the opening performer BOY WERE WE WRONG. Just before we get to the venue, we get in a minor car accident. JUST OUR LUCK!

So this took about 20 more minutes away from us seeing the show. The kid we hit was 16 and just got his license and this wasn’t his car. After exchanging information it was time to see the show.

Wait not yet… we need to be stuck in traffic for about another 20 minutes and while we’re waiting I can hear NERD performing who was the main reason I wanted to go to the show. I felt the tears coming-but I held them back.

We finally get there but wait there’s tons of walking we need to do before we get into the venue, I swear I felt I would never get inside and see anyone perform. After walking 10 minutes we finally get to our seats and see Rihanna perform. I sort of wish we missed her too. She was decent but she needs to work on her stage presences as well as her dancing and her dancers need training too.
While sitting down during her set, I decided I should take pictures with my sister’s camera she let me borrow. This is when I found out, her camera is broken. And I definitely remember her saying to me before I left ‘don’t break my camera’ I was so scared to tell her. But I will say my sister took it very well when I called her frantically twenty thousand times that night.

After Rihanna’s set we’re all thinking Lupe is still up to perform. But when Stephon and I go to get food we find out Lupe decided to start the show 30 minutes before the show was suppose to start. WTF? Who does that? So not only missed NERD but also Lupe Fiasco. I was not a happy camper and if Kanye had struck dead in the 20 minutes between his set and rihanna's, I was going to burn down the venue.

We’re still getting our food when the lights go out to tell us Kanye is about to go on stage. Everyone starts’ running, it was like a shoot out happened the way people were scattering around the place.

Kanye gets on stage and he has this whole theme that we’re lost in outer space and we need to get back home. Interesting concept. Kanye was entertaining and really got the crowd into the show. I expected a lot more from it but it made my night to finally get to see him perform.

Overall it was an interesting night, we still go lost going back to my sister’s house. We ended up going south, deeper into Virginia than going north toward DC. But during our detour we got to tour DC, I never saw the Washington Monument so close up before. It’s beautiful.

So that was my weekend. I know it was a lot to read but I wanted to share my experience with you.
